The Data Connector Node calls the tools automatically generated by a configured connector to retrieve or fetch data from an external data source, making the results available as variables for downstream nodes.
Usage Example
Use a file connector in a workflow to search for files and obtain their download links, then pass the results to downstream nodes for processing.
Before using a data connector node, create a connector and import data on the data connection page. For instructions, see data connection.
Adding the Node
Method 1: Add via the + Button
-
Hover your mouse over any node on the canvas (e.g., the Start node); a
+button automatically appears on its right side. -
Click the
+button and select Data Connector from the pop-up node list. The node will be automatically added to the canvas and connected to the upstream node.
Method 2: Drag from the Node Library
- In the left-hand node library, locate and select Data Connector.
- Drag the node onto the canvas at your desired location, then drag a connection line from the edge of an upstream node to this node.
Core Configuration
Tool Selection
The name of the selected tool appears at the top of the configuration panel. To change the connector or tool, click the switch button on the right and select a new one. When you switch, all existing parameter configurations are cleared.
For example, after you create a file connector, the system automatically generates the following two tools:
| Tool name | Description | Parameters |
|---|---|---|
searchFile | Searches for files by keyword in the title and returns their download links. | keyWord (String, Required): The search keyword for the title. maxCount (Integer, Optional): The maximum number of files to return. The default is 5, and the maximum is 10. |
getFile | Retrieves a file by its file ID and returns its download link. | fileId (String, Required): The ID of the target file. |
Input
The system automatically loads input parameters based on the selected tool, and the parameters vary. You configure them using a dropdown list. First, select a reference type, and then set its value.
| Column name | Description |
|---|---|
| Reference type | The source of the parameter value: Input (enter text directly in the Value column), Reference (use an output variable from an upstream node). |
| Value | Based on the selected reference type, either enter text directly or select the corresponding variable from the dropdown list. |
Node Output
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| result | Object | The execution result of the tool. |
| result.content | Array<Object> | A list of the returned content. Each element contains text (text content) and type (content type, always text). |
| result.isError | Boolean | Specifies whether an error occurred. A value of false indicates success, while true indicates an error. |
