NetEase Mail

Connect NetEase 163 Mail with your email address and authorization code so agents can access mail over IMAP/SMTP.

Once NetEase Mail is connected, agents can access your mailbox over the IMAP/SMTP protocols and work with mail data. Connecting requires no auth config. The connection dialog has only two fields: Email address and Authorization code.

Before you connect

The authorization code is not your mailbox sign-in password — it is a credential NetEase Mail issues separately for third-party clients. To get one:
  1. Sign in to 163 Mail on the web, and go to Settings → POP3/SMTP/IMAP.
  2. Enable the IMAP/SMTP service.
  3. Click Add authorization code, complete the verification as prompted, and copy the generated code.
For details, see the official NetEase Mail help: How to add an authorization code.
The authorization code is shown only once — copy and save it right away. It is equivalent to a password, so do not leak it.

Steps to connect

  1. Open the connection dialog: In the left-hand navigation of the console, click Apps, find the NetEase Mail card, and click Connect. The dialog is titled Connect App, with a 163 Mail authentication section noting that the email address and authorization code are stored encrypted and used only to establish the mail connection.
  2. Enter the email address: Provide the full 163 Mail address, in the form yourname@163.com. Required.
  3. Enter the authorization code: Provide the code generated in NetEase Mail settings above. This is a password field, so your input is not echoed. Required.
  4. Submit: Click Submit. Note the button is Submit, not the Confirm used by Apps that need an auth config.
The dialog has no connector name or description fields. The connector name is generated by the platform and can be renamed after the connection is created.

Automatically generated tools

A set of mail-related tools is generated once the connection succeeds. View them in the Available tools section of the App details page. Refer to the page for the actual tool list.

Multiple accounts

You can create multiple connectors under the same NetEase Mail App, each for one mailbox account and its authorization code. To connect several mailboxes, generate a code for each and create a connector per mailbox, telling them apart by connector name. For how to manage them, see Connected accounts.

Credential security

  • The authorization code and email address are stored encrypted by the platform and used only to establish the mail connection.
  • Do not paste the authorization code into chat groups, code repositories, or tickets.
  • If the code leaks, disable the old one in the NetEase Mail POP3/SMTP/IMAP settings and add a new one, then rebuild the connection with it.

Troubleshooting

SymptomCommon cause
Authentication fails after submittingThe code is wrong, has extra whitespace, or was disabled. Add a new code and retry
The email address is rejectedThe address is incomplete — it must include the @163.com suffix
Connection succeeds but no mail is readableThe IMAP/SMTP service is not enabled or was turned off in NetEase Mail. Check the service state in POP3/SMTP/IMAP settings
A previously working connection suddenly failsThe code was disabled or reset. Rebuild the connection with the current valid code
The authorization code is shown only once at generation — connect right after generating it rather than keeping it around, which reduces leakage risk.
