Validate Parse or Extract settings with real samples and save them as reusable configurations.
Configurations save parsing or extraction settings that can be reused. For example, you can save a set of parsing settings for product manuals and a set of extraction fields for purchase orders, then continue using them when processing similar files later.
First, log in to the ParseX console. Before saving for the first time, prepare the settings you want to reuse in the Parse (document parsing) or Extract (field extraction) workbench. Before viewing or editing existing configurations, you should have already created the corresponding configuration.
The first save starts from "Save Configuration" in the workbench; day-to-day management starts from "Configurations" in the left sidebar. For a first-time walkthrough, see Quickstart.
For the meaning of each setting, see Configure Parse and Configure Extract. For how to reference a configuration in your application, see REST API Integration.
After a configuration is created, you can find its name and ID in the configuration list. After editing and saving, reopen it to verify the current settings. Configurations apply to future reuse; historical tasks still follow the snapshot taken at the time they ran.
Edits to a configuration apply to future tasks; historical tasks retain the settings they ran with. The settings used by a historical task can be viewed in the "Configuration Snapshot" section of the task details. See Task Records for instructions.

Procedure
Save a configuration for the first time
- In the Parse (document parsing) or Extract (field extraction) workbench, prepare the settings you want to reuse.

Find, edit, and test
| Action | Steps | Check after completion |
|---|---|---|
| Find | Select "All", "Parse (document parsing)", or "Extract (field extraction)"; if you have the configuration ID, enter it in the search box | The name, type, and ID match the target configuration |
| Edit | Click "Edit", adjust the name or options, and click "Save Configuration" | Reopen the configuration and verify the saved settings |
| Test | Click "Test" and use representative files to check the processing results | The results meet the requirements of downstream applications |
| Reference | Copy the configuration ID and specify it in your application's task requests | The referenced capability matches the configuration type |
