Alibaba Cloud account management lets you manage workspaces and user accounts. An enterprise account can create multiple workspaces to isolate data. This feature is useful for isolating data between different departments within your company or between ecosystem partners that use the product.
Alibaba Cloud account management feature is available only to Alibaba Cloud accounts or Resource Access Management (RAM) users and RAM roles that have management layer permissions. If you are not familiar with concepts such as workspaces, RAM users, or management layer permissions, see Overview of permissions.
Workspace management
- An Alibaba Cloud account can have up to 20 workspaces.
- Workspaces cannot be deleted after they are created.
- A default workspace is automatically created after you activate the product.
Add a workspace
- Go to the Workspace Management page.
- Click the Add Workspace button on the right side of the page.
- Enter a Workspace Name and click OK.
Edit a workspace
- In the Actions column, click the Edit button.
- Enter a Workspace Name and click OK.
Enter a workspace
In the Actions column, click Enter Workspace. You are automatically redirected to the home page of the corresponding workspace.
Query a workspace ID
Go to the Workspace Management page to view the Workspace ID.
Account management
Add a user
- Go to the Account Management page.

Click the Add User button on the right side of the page and enter the basic user information.
RAM User: This drop-down list displays all RAM users in the Alibaba Cloud account. Select the RAM user to whom you want to grant permissions. If no users are available, see Create a RAM user.
Name: Enter a display name for the RAM user in Model Studio.

After you enter the basic information, click Save and Continue to Configure Permissions to go to the Permissions page.
- Click the Permission button in the permission configuration section.
- For Business Scope, select the workspace to which you want to grant permissions.

Assign a role. We recommend that you assign only the least privilege required to complete tasks to avoid unnecessary security risks.
Administrator: Grants access to all features within the specified workspace.
Visitor: Grants access to all features within the specified workspace, except for Space Members Management or Role Management.
Find a user
In the search box, enter an Alibaba Cloud account name, and click the 
icon to find users in Model Studio. Fuzzy search is supported.
